Role and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Mechanic Helper/Assistant will support the maintenance team in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role requires a fundamental understanding of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair tasks. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment while contributing to the overall team effort.

  • Assist the Maintenance mechanic in any task assigned.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of machinery and mechanical equipment identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC,etc.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring the duties of this position are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to learn and improve to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery.
  • Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work well with others, be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to work in shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary.

  • Satisfactory pre-employment drug testing is required.
