Position Title:                        Behaviorist

Department:                          Adult Behavioral Services

Reporting Function:             Assistant Direct of Adult Behavioral Services

Supervisory Functions:         None

Job Summary:   To coordinate the behavioral treatment services of the individuals in Laradon’s Adult Services including individuals aged 18-21 requiring EPSDT approved providers. Develop evidence-based behavior plans that address behavior and skills deficits as well as behaviors that place the person or others at risk.  Reliably measure and evaluate plans to analyze mastery of goals and track progress. Train and support providers to assist them in utilizing appropriate interventions and behavior management techniques. 

Duties/Responsibilities:        
•   Develop, and train Host Home Providers (HHPs) and Family Caregivers (FCG) on Behavioral Individual Service, Support Plans, and restrictive procedures including Rights Suspensions and Safety Control Procedures.  Oversee and review monthly and revise as needed. 
•   Collect data and assess targeted behaviors for individuals in Host Homes and Family Caregiver Homes as well as overlapping services as needed in day programs. Create and implement strategies to change behavior and develop long-term plans. Continuous assessment and modification of plans.
•   Carry and manage a caseload to maintain a minimum of 75 billable hours per month.
•   Provide counseling for individuals who have this targeted need.
•   Participate in the Service Plan (SP) meetings including determining the amount of Prior Authorization Request units needed for each individual, completing monthly, quarterly reports, and trend analysis.
 •   Consult with parents and team members and complete required paperwork.
•   Prepare information on behavioral supports and services to present to the Human Rights Committees (HRC)
 •   Provide proactive support and crisis intervention to HHPs, Family Caregivers, and staff.
•   Seek input and maintain effective communication with teams and outside entities.
•   Work collaboratively with other professionals, psychiatrists, and other medical professionals to meet the needs of individuals.
•   Provide consultation and progress reports to bill Prior Authorization Report (PAR) units for each individual needing Behavioral Services.
•   Assist the Placement Coordinator when designing services and supports for individuals with behavioral challenges.Minimum Training                  •   All trainings deemed mandatory by Laradon.Requirements:                         •   A minimum of 24 hours of approved training annually.

•  Mistreatment, Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation/Incident Reporting
                                                •   Safety Care Behavioral Safety Trainer Training
                                                •   20 hours of on-the-job training         

Minimum Position                   •   Board Certified Behavior Analyst or shall have a Master’s degree orRequirements:                             higher in behavioral, social or health science or education and be nationally certified as a “Board Certified Behavior Analysis” (BCBA), or certified by a similar nationally recognized organization or licensed by the State Board of Examiners.  Shall have at least two years of directly supervised experience developing and implementing behavioral support plans utilizing established approaches including Behavioral Analysis or Positive Behavioral Supports that are consistent with best practice and research on effectiveness for people with developmental disabilities; or shall have a Baccalaureate degree or higher in behavioral, social or health science of education and be 1) certified as a “Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst” (BCaBA) or 2) be enrolled in a BCaBA or BCBA certification program or completed a Positive Behavioral Supports training program and 3) working under the supervision of a certified or licensed Behavioral Services professional.•   OR Shall hold the appropriate license or certification for the provider’s discipline according to state law or federal regulations and represent one of the following professional categories: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, or BCBA and must demonstrate or document a minimum of two years experience in providing counseling to individuals with developmental disabilities.
•   At least five years of experience working with adolescents and young adults with behaviors presenting imminent threat of serious harm to self or others including three years of practice as a BCBA in your area of expertise.
•   Ability and credentialing to bill Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) in the State of Colorado
•   Therapeutic experience preferable.
                                                                        •   Valid driving license, good driving record, and vehicle insurance are preferred.
                                                •   Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full work days; ability to complete training and perform physical management of participants as necessary, including physical restraints; ability to speak or exchange information audibly.
