Mid/Senior Front End Engineer

We expect you to be able to own and deliver projects with little oversight. We’d love you to help us identify areas where we can improve and be an owner over the entire shopping experience. You will put an emphasis on pragmatic solutions and customer experience.

You’ll probably have a few years working in the industry, but we care less about how long you’ve been working and more about what you’ve been doing. We’d love to hear about what you’ve worked on, how it was built, and why it was a success.

Responsibilities

Our team is looking for an amazing software engineer to work on our shopping experience team. The shopping experience is the way that hundreds of thousands of customers purchase the Pura Smart Home Fragrance Diffuser and fragrances. From designing the look and feel, to extending custom functionality to our Shopify store, your code will be making a meaningful difference in how people purchase their Pura products. 

You’ll be working on a cross-functional team as part of the engineering organization and collaborating closely with our marketing department. Ideally you’ll have worked on customizing Shopify stores before, but if you are well versed in CSS, JavaScript, React or other frontend technologies and have a curious mind, you’ll pick things up no problem. Experience with headless Shopify is a plus. We believe nobody starts any role as an expert. We want to find motivated applicants who want to do their best work rather than finding someone who has done it before.

As our Shopify store is the interface for people to purchase Pura products, we want it to be an intuitive, beautiful experience. Here are some examples of projects you may work on:

  • Building out a custom user experience on top of Shopify, using both Liquid and React
  • Working with Shopify third party applications to extend the functionality of our store
  • Working closely with marketing and creative on design changes, landing pages, and additions to the website
  • Troubleshooting escalated support issues / bugs relating to website functionality
  • Expanding the website globally
