Job DescriptionJob Description KPC Promise Hospital of AMARILLO: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides services under the general supervision of the Occupational Therapist, including assisting with patient assessment, treating individual patients and patient groups; delivering home program, patient, and family instructions; participating in family and team conferences; conduction equipment inventory, maintenance, and orders; and documenting services according to departmental and hospital standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program, certification by AOTA.

2. Must hold a current state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the State Board of Medical Examiners or State Board of Occupational Therapy.

3. Long term acute care and rehabilitation experience is preferred;

4. Maintains current CPR

5. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills.

6. Basic computer skills with minimal guidance


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:


Physical: Walking - up to 75% Standing - up to 75% Kneeling - up to 75%

Sitting - up to 25% Pushing - up to 50% Bending - up to 75%

Squatting - up to 50% Pulling - up to 50% Reaching - up to 25%

Lifting - up to 100lbs Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%


Mental: Stress Level: Moderate


EXPOSURE RISK: Category I - Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.


EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Beds, scales, lifts, tilt tables, ADL equipment/assistive devices, B/P cuff, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, computers
