Bollinger Motors, a growing startup based in Oak Park, MI is seeking an IT Director to lead our Information Systems enterprises. We are expanding the functionality of our business systems and product development applications, while enhancing our infrastructure and improving cybersecurity to the next level. This leader will be expected to build scalable systems and processes while developing collaborative relationships at all levels and ensuring a high level of uptime and service. This position reports to the VP of Operations and is an in-person role at the company’s Oak Park headquarters and at the manufacturing facility in Livonia.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating business objectives into robust technological solutions and vice versa.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with department heads of each business organization
  • Manage broad portfolio of business systems and product development applications
  • Manage directly:

- Operations systems support for ERP (PLEX) and MES (NYSUS) implementation and maintenance

- Sales CRM (Salesforce) implementation and maintenance

- Finance (Adaptive) implementation and maintenance

- IT Security systems implementation and future proofing

- IT hardware infrastructure

  • Manage indirectly:

- PLM (3DX) thru CPO

- IT Services and Helpdesk thru HR Director

  • Establish a cybersecurity program
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of information technologies and services
  • Manage rollout of company-wide systems across multiple locations
  • Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget and licenses
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve corporate efficiency
  • Review technology requirements for systems to ensure consistency of delivery and a cohesive architecture
  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to employees on various IT systems
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports
  • Fully understand, provide guidance, and administer company policies and procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Establish or upgrade procedures as needed while recommending changes to improve the efficiencies to minimize manual tasks, workflow bottlenecks and repetitive data entry.
  • Support other duties and projects as required.
Requirements:

Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing information technology projects
  • 5+ years' experience working with automotive, industrial or manufacturing companies required
  • Broad understanding of ERPs, PLM, CRM, MES, cybersecurity, administration of laptops, servers and network infrastructure
  • Experience in leading systems implementation projects is required
  • Extensive experience managing third-party vendors is preferred
  • Experience in integrating acquired businesses is a plus
  • Experience working in a start-up organization is a plus
  • Excellent customer service, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build partnerships at staff and management levels, and across functions
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with keen attention to detail, with strong sense of ethics and the ability to maintain confidential information
  • Adept at interfacing with executive teams and delivering impactful presentations clearly
