Job DescriptionJob Description
  • Designs, fits and dispenses corrective lenses, eyewear and low vision aids based on physicians prescriptions
  • Operates manual lens meters and tools to achieve proper fittings
  • Educates patients on correct use of lens and options of frames
  • Manages inventory of frames. May communicate with doctors for any concerns about prescriptions
  • Conduct initial testing for patients using optical equipment, to prepare them and the doctor for an exam
  • Be able to operate retinal camera, manual/auto lensometer, retinal camera, visual field, and other optical equipment
  • Display basic knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and symptoms
  • Comply with all mandated policies and procedures
