What You'll Do

The Lead Backend Software Engineer will lead a small team of engineers and technical consultants through designing, building, and maintaining high-quality technology
solutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience. We are looking for someone who can bring a level of energy, drive, and ownership to knock down barriers and get things done. 

As the Lead Backend Software Engineer, you will:
  • Work with clients to design and develop backend technology
  • Look at the bigger picture to understand how technology will fit within the client’s ecosystem and consider how the technology will impact people and processes
  • Mentor and guide a small team of engineers and technical consultants to efficiently write quality code at pace
  • Translate user stories and functional requirements into technical designs
  • Design, build and maintain high quality technology solutions that deliver and exceptional customer experience
  • Boost team velocity by developing and implementing quality code in line with Acceptance Criteria
  • Estimate level of effort to complete user stories
  • Create new features or parts of applications with end user in mind, providing the best experience

What You'll Bring
  • 8-12 years of hands-on software engineering experience, particularly with Javascript and Node.js
  • Experience developing software in AWS environment (S3, CloudFront, Route 53, Lambda, EC2/ELB, RDS)
  • Experience leading a small team of engineers
  • Consulting experience or experience owning a client relationship is needed
  • Positive attitude and an ability to work well on an exciting project with client and Experient Group team members
  • Maintain clean “code hygiene” and adhering to coding standards (formatting and documenting code, code merges with other engineer’s code)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for learning and a passion for solving business problems with technology
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Familiarity/experience with GIT
