ROLE: OVERNIGHT HOUSEPERSON/SECURITY - The Springhill Suites Chicago - Chinatown

Job Summary: SpringHill Suites Chicago Chinatown is seeking a dedicated and responsible Overnight Houseperson/Security to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a reliable individual who can maintain the cleanliness and safety of the hotel during the overnight shift. This position combines housekeeping duties with security responsibilities to ensure a pleasant and secure environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Houseperson Duties:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks in public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and meeting spaces.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces.
  • Respond to guest requests for additional supplies such as towels, toiletries, and linens.
  • Ensure all common areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of facilities.

Security Duties:

  • Monitor hotel premises to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the hotel.
  • Respond promptly to security-related incidents and emergencies, following established protocols.
  • Report and document any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches.
  • Assist in enforcing hotel policies, including noise control and guest conduct.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the front desk, maintenance, and management teams to address any guest concerns or maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, providing exceptional guest service.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, security, or a related field is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of safety and security procedures.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the premises for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and physically demanding work.
