YMCA OF MEMPHIS AND THE MIDSOUTH REGIONAL DIRECTOR
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Youth Development Leadership Team is responsible for high-quality programs where children/youth experience achievement, and belonging and develop relationships. The Regional Director is an integral member of this team and is responsible for leading multiple teams in the implementation of quality programming, ensuring safety at all times and fostering children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. This leader must independently lead strategic operations that support quality programming including curriculum implementation, staff development, stakeholder relationship building, meeting licensing standards and effective
financial management.
The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is a fast-growing, responsive organization. The Regional Director is a high performer in the field with a proven track record of driving quality results in a fast-paced, and multi-faceted organization. This person must understand the basic concepts, vision and mission of the YMCA to ensure the successful operation of these programs and the development of new program initiatives including staff leadership and development, community relations and collaborations, partnerships and policy, budgeting and financial results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leadership: Lead & supervise a team of program and operations leaders, developing a culture of leadership development resulting in a pipeline of new leaders. - Financial Management: Supervise the annual financial operating budgets for designated operations and relationship management. Independently oversee the preparation of annual budgets and ensure successful management of designated programs resulting in an annual balanced fiscal operation for the Association.
- Financial Results: Lead teams and strategy to meet enrollment goals.
- Quality Programming: Independently leads a multi-unit region of childcare operations. Leads the implementation of high-quality programming & developmentally appropriate practices for children/youth and families at program locations through program leaders. Ensure that the program operates according to quality, licensing and safety standards.
- Evidence-Informed Programming: Lead grant-funded operations ensuring compliance, standards, quality and record-keeping, meet all grant and funder requirements across multi-site operations. Understand federal, state and private funder reporting standards. Collaborate, design, implement, evaluate and grow additional evidenced-based standards in assigned school district locations. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Relationship-Building: Provide leadership with partners at all levels with a focus on strategy in strengthening relationships. This includes leading the relationship development within the assigned school districts. Manage partner contracts with integrity and transparency while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
- Organizational & Project Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to independently lead, plan, organize and manage a complex project to achieve department or organizational goals. Ability to travel to multiple locations and ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends at certain times of year.
- Team development: Oversee sourcing and management of candidates from existing and newly established pipelines for the purpose of staffing assigned region. Performs other duties as recognized and assigned to support the overall success of the Youth Development team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field or an equivalent combination of directly related experience, training, and/or education.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing programs (designing, implementing, and evaluating youth development programs) to include some experience supervising staff
- Ability to meet state childcare licensing requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
