Grill Cook

Job Summary:
The Grill Cook at The Westin Jackson is a full-time, hourly position requiring a dedicated hospitality professional with a genuine passion for cooking. This individual will be responsible for grill preparation, line cooking, and oversight of the kitchen. The successful candidate must be committed to providing exceptional service to our guests, while creating delicious and visually appealing meals.

Compensation & Benefits:

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, season, and cook food according to recipes
• Adhere to all food health and safety standards
• Test foods to determine if they are cooked properly
• Garnish and present dishes as required
• Adhere to inventory and stock procedures
• Order ingredients to maintain necessary supplies
• Monitor food preparation to ensure that plates are prepared in a timely manner
• Ensure that all food orders are accurate and completed according to customer specifications
• Restock and rotate food products in accordance with established guidelines
• Clean and sanitize work area

Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in a professional kitchen
• Strong understanding of grill cooking techniques and meal presentation
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
• Organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Flexible schedule
