The YMCA of Greater St Petersburg's Dance Academy is looking for qualified, reliable instructors for young dancer classes, tap, and hip hop in both beginner and intermediate levels for our growing dance program. Y Dance Academy is a large non-profit dance program offering classes in all genres, including an award winning competition team, technique classes, and a large end of year performance for all students. Students have the option of pursuing dance competitively or as a recreational passion.

Requirements:

  • Instructors must have previous experience teaching a variety of dance genres to all age levels.
  • References are required and videos of past work preferred.
  • Part-time schedule with availability on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
  • Speer YMCA location as primary with the opportunity for additional locations.
  • All instructors teach technique classes as well as choreograph for the end of year performance.
  • We are currently looking for teachers for tap and hip hop styles.
  • The YMCA offers opportunities for long term growth, benefits and competitive pay to the most qualified.
  • Must be able to work independently, have excellent relationship building skills and a passion for teaching dance in a great work atmosphere.
  • Clear criminal history and drug test required.

Locations: The candidate will work at YMCA locations depending on schedule: Jim&Heather Gills YMCA (3200 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712) or Speer YMCA ( 495 62nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33702).
