PURPOSEServe as an integral part of the Production team as the initial point of production output while upholding Commercial Employees CAN DO IT values. Ensure that materials are routed under optimum conditions of quality, productivity, timeliness, and cost effectiveness. This includes, but is not limited to: CNC Operation, CNC Machine Maintenance and Material Management. This is a non-exempt position.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESMaintenance & Safety
  • Select and install tooling, Tool Touch-offs.
  • Change bits, as needed, to ensure efficient routing and quality parts.
  • Resurface Spoil Boards (perform “fly-cuts”) to maintain proper suction of parts as they are cut.
  • Perform all routine maintenance on the machines as required.
  • Attend required safety meetings and actively participate in additional safety training/requirements, as needed. Follows all safety protocol and looks for new solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or prevention measures.
Material Management
  • Accurately log materials when pulled from inventory to a job.
  • Quality inspects materials prior to cutting. Report defects to Production Support Specialist.
  • Coordinates with Production Support Specialist on any discrepancies in inventory and any needs for additional inventory.
  • Store materials appropriately after being received from Production Support Specialist.
  • Quality checks cut material for discrepancies and defects prior to labeling for assembly.
CNC Operation
  • Starts up and shuts down CNC Machine following established company procedures.
  • Properly loads CNC programs from the computer hard drive to the Fanuc Controller.
  • Safely load and unload materials from spoil boards.
  • Monitors CNC Machines operation, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
  • Applies practical and working knowledge of machines to make the necessary adjustments (turning dials, switches, and assigned offset/program controls) to override machine control and correct machine performance.
  • Responsible for all inspections ensuring conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment including identification of unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized area, free of debris and excess material.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years CNC experience required.
  • Background in construction or manufacturing required.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, cabinetry, and/or millwork preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC Machine operation, tool off settings and use of Fanuc controllers.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills to be able to read and use digital calipers.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Be able to work standing for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds and have full range of motion.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with shop drawings.
  • Forklift Certification is required.
Pay $24.00 - $25.00 depending on experience.
