Job Title: Lead Carpenter
Reports to: Shannon Duvall, GM
Position Overview and Objectives:
The Lead Carpenter is responsible for leading renovation projects, ensuring internal and subcontracted carpenters are meeting project specifications with high-quality standards, while also contributing to the hands-on construction, renovation, and additions of pre-existing or new homes. The ideal candidate will utilize their carpentry skills and be willing to learn new skills to finalize assigned projects to the highest standard of quality excellence.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be required to:
Assess project requirements, workflow, and delegate tasks appropriately among carpenters both internally and externally subcontracted
Accurately assess and compile the required materials and equipment tailored to each unique project, ensuring optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Manage project materials, inventory, and budget to minimize costs and waste
Document project progression and/or changes, maintaining regular updates to the proposed schedule to ensure effective time management
Ensure cost-effective use of materials according to specific project needs, fostering accuracy and minimizing waste
Interprets plans accurately, translating these plans into high-quality outcomes
Demonstrates respect for homeowners' property, safeguarding personal spaces, and upholding strict confidentiality concerning home details and resident privacy
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, reflecting respect for safety standards and promoting an efficient working environment
Produce top-tier quality work, integrating safety and efficiency into each phase of construction
Train carpenters in current techniques, safety, and customer service, staying abreast of any industry updates and trends as needed
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards across all projects
Attend weekly Production Meetings for collaboration with Sales colleagues and leadership, disseminating information to carpenters as needed
Consult with clients to achieve desired outcomes, adapting to feedback and project adjustments as necessary
Properly document worked shifts within the time-tracking system
Required Knowledge, Experience, Education, and Training:

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
A commitment to delivering high-quality work product
Ability to work independently, taking initiative in assigned tasks, and demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in a broad range of construction skills, including carpentry and general repair skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task within time constraints, exhibiting strong organizational and time management skills
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience & Education required:
A proven track record in carpentry, reflected by 2-5 years of hands-on experience
Possession of a valid driver's license
