About the role
We are seeking a Consolidation Planner to join a high-performing, business-critical team in RJW’s Logistics department. This role is responsible for the successful planning of our customer shipments to ensure we service every order to customer and retailer standards. Our team utilizes technology every day to enable the best possible outcomes. Responsibilities
Collaborate with operation, warehouse and carrier teams to ensure all shipments planned meet RJW standards and the goals of our customers.
Problem-Solve: Identify gaps in our existing processes and systems and work to develop and implement solutions.
Communicate clearly and with the upmost professionalism in all written and verbal communication across all business departments.
Understand transport modes and planning strategies that generate revenue vs. detract from revenue.
Calculate best transit times and transport modes based on customer need and expectation.
Understand the larger context and implications of load planning decisions – use known context to inform how you plan.
Provide feedback to your manager often; know when to escalate issues and/or feedback.
Present your decision-making processes around orders, shipments, etc. to a manager-level audience.
Take full ownership of all load planning-related activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for this role
2-3 years minimum experience in logistics, freight, supply-chain
Must be available to work in-office in Lockport, IL or Romeoville, IL when requested in advance (1-week notice)
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
Understand transit times, scheduling, basic brokerage knowledge
Takes ownership and accountability for results and areas of opportunity
Organized, efficient. Able to document updates, ideas, and processes to discuss weekly with management

Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at time.
Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
