Summary:


Healthcare providers at Alluvion Health, including Nurse Practitioners, Family Practice Physicians, and Physician Assistants, are integral members of our medical team, delivering high-quality, comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to patients. These professionals work independently and interdependently with other clinic departments and providers to ensure integrated care for patient-centered outcomes.


Nurse Practitioners:

Nurse Practitioners for Alluvion Health provide primary and preventive health services to patients as part of an integrated team-based practice. Nurse Practitioner works independently and interdependently with other clinic departments and providers to ensure integrated care for patient centered outcomes. Assists in providing off-hours medical coverage to ensure 24-hour availability for all clinic patients and contracted services. In conjunction with the Vice President of Medical Operations, the Nurse Practitioner participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and protocols. Alluvion’s Nurse Practitioners are an integral member of Quality Improvement and serve as champions for Patient Centered Medical Home.


Family Practice Physicians:

The Family Practice Physician primary job function is to provide clinical leadership and high-quality provision of clinic based comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to patients at Alluvion Health. The Family Practice Physician works independently and interdependently with other clinic departments and providers to ensure integrated care for patient centered outcomes. Assists in providing off-hours medical coverage to ensure 24-hour availability for all clinic patients and contracted services. In conjunction with the Medical Director, the Family Practice Physician participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols. The Family Practice Physician is an integral member of Quality Improvement and serves as a champion for Patient Centered Medical Home.


Physician Assistants:

A Physician Assistants (PA) with Alluvion Health is a member of our medical team that delivers high-quality clinic based comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to patients at Alluvion Health and is formally trained to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services, as delegated by a physician, take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x rays, prescribe medications and make diagnoses as appropriate for care. The PA works under the supervision of a physician, consults with the supervising physician and other medical professionals as needed and as required by law.

Essential Job Responsibilities:


For Nurse Practitioners:

  • Performs medical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment to health center patients.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate.
  • Confers with patients, families, and other physicians.
  • Writes case histories and performs follow-up work on progress of patients.
  • Follows established health center policies and procedures.
  • Works as part of a care team as required.
  • Works flexible hours and overtime when requested.

For Family Practice Physicians:

  • Provides primary healthcare to patients according to established clinical principles.
  • Assists in revision and implementation of practice principles and clinical protocols.
  • Supervises and consults with residents, medical students, and staff.
  • Serves as a role model for effective teamwork and maintains positive morale.
  • Safeguards patient health information with privacy and confidentiality.
  • Serves as a resource for clinical staff regarding patient care issues.
  • Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Promotes the mission and vision of Alluvion Health.
  • Works flexible hours and overtime when requested.
  • Leads meetings, committees, and work groups as needed.

For Physician Assistants:

  • Provides primary healthcare according to established clinical principles.
  • Assists in revision and implementation of practice principles and clinical protocols.
  • Assesses patients' health and creates treatment plans.
  • Conducts routine procedures such as measuring blood pressure and temperature.
  • Provides therapeutic treatments such as disinfecting wounds and stitching.
  • Prescribes and refills medications.
  • Documents patient histories, progress notes, and interventions in the electronic health record.
  • Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Works flexible hours and overtime when requested.
  • Establishes rapport with patients to effectively treat their healthcare needs.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of clinical practices, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Ability to diagnose and treat chronic and acute illnesses.
  • Skills in using medical equipment and performing routine therapeutic procedures.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and medical software applications.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and manage conflict effectively.
  • Adherence to HIPAA privacy and security rules.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.


Education/Experience/Training:

  • Nurse Practitioners: Graduate from an accredited medical school, licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Montana with full prescriptive authority, current DEA, and board certified or board eligible. One year of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Family Practice Physicians: Graduate from an accredited medical school, licensed to practice as a physician in Montana with full prescriptive authority, current DEA, and board certified or board eligible in Family Practice. Two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Physician Assistants: Graduate from an accredited PA program, licensed to practice as a PA in Montana with full prescriptive authority, current DEA, and board certified or board eligible. Experience in a clinical setting preferred.


Certifications:

  • Active Montana license to practice medicine.
  • Board certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Montana.


Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to provide care to patients and operate a computer.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds while transporting equipment and supplies.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision and looking into monitors for extended periods.
  • Mobility to move about in various building settings and travel to other clinic sites.


Working Conditions:

  • Work indoors in a climate-controlled environment 95% of the time.
  • OSHA Exposure Category #1 (exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues may be required as a condition of employment).


Work Hours:

  • Saturday 8a - 5p. Additional coverage of registry assignments are possible for this position.


Wage:

  • Salary will be determined based on credentials (MD/DO vs ARPN/PA)
