Location: Flushing, NY
Duration: 3 months
Shift: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (includes a 45 min break)
Department: Social Work - 207040
Additional Details: This is a 12-week assignment for a Patient Navigator at NYP Queens. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate degree and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, along with experience in patient navigation, preferably in an oncology environment. Epic experience is highly preferred. Candidates must have at least 12 months of experience in a patient-facing or navigation role.
Responsibilities:
- Interact face-to-face with oncology patients, providing support and guidance throughout their healthcare journey.
- Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, scheduling appointments, and coordinating care.
- Utilize Epic and Excel for patient management and data entry.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with patients and healthcare providers.
- Adhere to business casual dress code standards.
- Report to location 8 South JC: Q31144 for daily assignments.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree required.
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a patient-facing or navigation role.
- Strong typing skills and effective communication abilities.
- Experience with Epic software is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with oncology patient care processes and terminology is preferred.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays during the assignment period.
