Summary

We are looking for a person to work from 7:30 to 1 four days a week. This person would prepare/serve breakfast, clean dishes, and collaborate with another lunch assistant to provide lunch as well. The food is delivered by Wausau school district and our lunch assistants follow both WI Childcare Licensing Guidelines and Head Start Performance Standards to ensure safe food handling, serving, and cleaning procedures are followed. Position begins on Wednesday, August 21, as we use the Wausau School District Calendar as our guide.

Duties

  • Monitor temperatures of the food as they arrive and as they are served meet guidelines.
  • Clean or sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, or facilities.
  • Place food servings into serving bowls according the CACFP serving size guidelines.
  • Deliver carts with the food to the 2 classrooms on time according to their daily schedules.
  • Prepare food items, such as sandwiches or cutting foods that could be choking hazards.
  • Monitor food preparation or serving techniques to ensure that proper procedures are followed.
  • Record amounts and types of special food items served to customers.


Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have, at minimum, a High School Diploma
  • Have or be willing to complete CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Shaken Baby Training.
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with both children and adults, and be flexible to the changing needs of the agency.
  • Must be trained OR be will to be trained in food safety. This includes, but is not limited to rules of health, safety and hygiene.
  • Personal cleanliness must be maintained at all times, especially of scalp and hands.
  • An FBI fingerprinting background check will be completed prior to hire.
