Job Summary – Under the general direction of the Senior Project Manager, this position is responsible for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services with the objective of meeting cost, delivery, and quality initiatives in a diverse manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Sourcing, negotiating, awarding, and documenting purchases for materials and services in an ERP environment
• Compiling and analyzing data to perform price analysis as well as reviewing proposals to establish best total value
• Performing bid/proposal activities
• Perform and comprehend price analyses and source selection/justification
• Ensuring that requirements are properly communicated to suppliers in bid and proposal activity as well as Purchase Orders
• Interfacing with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the materials/services are delivered on-time and in accordance with the specifications and quality notes documented in the Purchase Order
• Managing supplier performance to cost, schedule and quality requirements.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and other engineering documents.
• Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations (price, schedule, and supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements, Terms and Conditions)
• Ability to filter information from multiple sources to drive innovative solutions
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects from start to completion
• Time management and deadline driven skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Global Shop Solutions - a plus)

Language and Communication Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers. Communicate sourcing issues with Management in a timely manner to facilitate delivery dates.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, approval bodies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, peers, and the manufacturing floor.
  
  Education and/or Experience
• 3-5 years Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical and/or Electrical experience - a plus
• Machine Shop or Metal Fabrication experience - a plus
