Job Description
As a Billing Agent, you will play a crucial role in our financial department by overseeing billing processes, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining clear communication with our clients and internal teams. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our billing operations, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, handling customer inquiries, and contributing to our commitment to financial excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality customer interactions that align with Urbanex's commitment to excellence.
- Execute outbound calls to customers with outstanding balances in order to collect payment.
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
- Maintains and updates customer files as they relate to billing needs.
- Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.
- Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Billing Representative/Agent role.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable with a variety of communication channels including phone, text, and email.
- Proficiency in handling high-volume, fast-paced call center operations.
- Commitment to sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
