  • The Yard Manager ensures the organization and process flow of the Plant’s Yard Inventory. An organized individual capable of multi-tasking large and small projects at the same time. Understands yard management and ensures the safety and performance of the team. This individual must be a team player capable of working across several different departments simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coordinate material storage in the yard.
  • Hire, train and supervise yard staff to meet company standards.
  • Manage Shipping, Receiving, Material Handling and Yard procedures.
  • Establish and monitor KPI’s, communicate with the team and provide tools to meet them.
  • Manage & maintain the yard and ensure product is picked, staged and shipped to meet external and internal customer’s demand.
  • Maintain the maintenance and safety records for the shipping and receiving personnel.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling inventory accuracy.
  • Assure prompt and safely loading and unloading of company’s deliveries, including truck and rail transportation.
  • Participate in ISO 9001, API and QMS system requirements.
  • Manage the scrap yard to ensure organization, efficiency, and process flow.
  • Manage inventory of reels and skids to ensure inventory counts are done accurately and on time.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or relevant field and three (3) years of experience in shipping & receiving or inventory control; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or relevant field preferred.
  • Experience managing teams of three (3) or more preferred.
  • Effective team-builder who accomplishes objectives through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience dealing with heavy and oversized loads.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks, strong organizational & communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic yard maintenance.
  • Proficiency in operating yard equipment including but not limited to forklifts, cranes, and assembly equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
