Job Summary:

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with Chris' at the Docket's standards and recipes. This role involves cooking and preparing food items, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service.
  • Assist in the development of new menu items and special dishes.
  • Handle and store food products safely and properly.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role in a restaurant or culinary environment.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
