Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, growing and processing over 25 million pounds of Montmorency tart cherries each year. You will be joining the team that grows, processes, markets, and sells the finest cherry products and other premium dried fruits available anywhere in the world.

This position manages IT across all sites including: Acquisition of IT equipment; Oversight of all IT equipment additions, removals and disposals; Deployment of software, hardware and security solutions; Hardware, software, security and related policy and procedure trainings; Oversight of software and hardware upgrades and related troubleshooting; Management of day to day IT operations and company remote access and cloud storage solutions and; Organization and maintenance of the company's computer files and other information management systems.

Primary responsibilities;

  • Work with Finance to develop and manage IT operating and fixed asset budgets for all sites.
  • Provide specifications, negotiate contracts, oversee acquisitions and deploy hardware and software solutions to support the Company's IT objectives.
  • Procure, maintain, and administer all IT hardware and software including the maintenance of all asset records.
  • Approve and code invoices for IT related equipment and software.
  • Maintain permissions for SharePoint, Microsoft, Parity, Sage and other software products.
  • Provide direct desktop and software support in conjunction with in-house IT staff and third-party IT vendors.
  • Interview, negotiate and manage all contracts with third party IT vendors.
  • Attend quarterly meetings with third party IT vendors to review performance, discuss network health and address any outstanding issues.
  • Oversee large IT projects such as equipment upgrades (server upgrade, switches, software installations and upgrades, phone system, camera systems, printers) and software deployments.
  • Create and maintain IT policies and procedures including cyber security protocols.
  • Develop employee orientation materials related to IT and conduct on-boarding for new employees related thereto.
  • Provide support in conjunction with in-house IT staff and third-party IT vendors for after-hours IT emergencies.
  • Work with Senior Management and other Managers to promote continuous improvement as part of the Company's Culture.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices when in production areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding business records, networks and information.
  • Conduct all activities in a manner that creates and promotes a Team atmosphere where all opinions, thoughts, ideas and dissenting opinions can be heard, recognized, fairly evaluated and incorporated in the decision-making process.
