Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY 10019
Duration: 60-Day Contract
Hours Per Week: 37.50
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Duties:
  1. Perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks as required.
  2. Conduct MRI imaging procedures, operating and preparing specialized equipment.
  3. Assist, prepare, and position patients for MRI procedures.
  4. Apply technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to protocols and patient needs.
  5. Provide patient education on imaging procedures, including the nature of the procedure, imaging area, and any specific instructions.
  6. Review patient safety questionnaires and adhere to MRI safety precautions prior to scanning.
  7. Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning from zone 2 to zone 3.
  8. Assist in administering contrast media and loading the power injector using aseptic techniques.
  9. Position patients and associated coils to obtain optimal images.
  10. Scan and archive patient-related documents.
  11. Ensure all images are appropriately labeled as per department SOP.
  12. Assist physicians as needed during procedures.
  13. Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
  14. Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including removing soiled or dirty linen.
  15. Keep imaging room supplies and accessories stocked as needed.
  16. Accurately record patient tracking information in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
  17. Schedule exams in IDX as required.
  18. Ensure studies performed are completed in IDX in a timely manner.
  19. Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  20. Adhere to infection control policies to prevent the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and employees.
  21. Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.
  22. Maintain licensure specific to the job, including compliance with Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensing Requirements:
    • New York State License (L.R.T.)
    • NY State IV Certification.
  • Certification Requirements:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified).
    • BLS certification.
  • Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write).
Additional Information:
  • Local candidates are preferred, as in-person interviews are required.
  • The role requires a 60-day contract commitment.
