Location: New York, NY 10019
Duration: 60-Day Contract
Hours Per Week: 37.50
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks as required.
- Conduct MRI imaging procedures, operating and preparing specialized equipment.
- Assist, prepare, and position patients for MRI procedures.
- Apply technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to protocols and patient needs.
- Provide patient education on imaging procedures, including the nature of the procedure, imaging area, and any specific instructions.
- Review patient safety questionnaires and adhere to MRI safety precautions prior to scanning.
- Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning from zone 2 to zone 3.
- Assist in administering contrast media and loading the power injector using aseptic techniques.
- Position patients and associated coils to obtain optimal images.
- Scan and archive patient-related documents.
- Ensure all images are appropriately labeled as per department SOP.
- Assist physicians as needed during procedures.
- Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
- Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including removing soiled or dirty linen.
- Keep imaging room supplies and accessories stocked as needed.
- Accurately record patient tracking information in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
- Schedule exams in IDX as required.
- Ensure studies performed are completed in IDX in a timely manner.
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to infection control policies to prevent the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and employees.
- Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.
- Maintain licensure specific to the job, including compliance with Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
- Minimum Education: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- Licensing Requirements:
- New York State License (L.R.T.)
- NY State IV Certification.
- Certification Requirements:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified).
- BLS certification.
- Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write).
- Local candidates are preferred, as in-person interviews are required.
- The role requires a 60-day contract commitment.
