We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Bilingual Advocate for our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program. This role involves providing support and assistance to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, with a focus on offering services for both non-English and Spanish speaking victims of domestic violence.


This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of survivors and contribute to the work of ending domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in our nine-county service area. Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to Spanish and non-English-speaking domestic violence victims in all covered counties, including crisis intervention at various locations.
  • Facilitate support groups and assist shelter clients with case management for non-English-speaking survivors.
  • Assist Spanish-speaking survivors in accessing community resources by interpreting, translating documents, and providing assistance.
  • Conduct Spanish presentations to raise awareness of domestic violence issues in non-English-speaking communities.
  • Serve as a liaison with local coalitions and community members in non-English-speaking areas.
  • Participate in community events to engage with outreach counties and distribute agency materials.
  • Assist survivors in arranging shelter and transportation services as needed.
  • Translate agency materials from English to Spanish as required.
  • Maintain flexible working hours and provide personal transportation.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries with clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
