Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will use moderately complex techniques to produce insights, new product or change recommendations, process improvement or automation, and predictive modeling. You will use data mining and data analysis methods, be adept with common large data processing techniques, computational programing capabilities, practical problem-solving skills, and have an ability to articulate solutions to non-technical consumers or partners. As a senior associate, you will partner with data engineering and data management teams and apply data mining techniques to external or created data sources in preparation for analysis or use of enterprise data assets.

The Senior Data Scientist role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product and/or business owners, data engineers, and platform teams to understand business needs and current capabilities, data availability, and alternative uses.
  • Implement new statistical modeling capabilities.
  • Apply predictive analytic capabilities to enhance the delivery of business applications and support the integration of data and statistical models or algorithms. Apply industry practices in research and testing to product development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Design new modeling applications to support risk measurement, financial valuation, decision making, and business performance.
  • Design data visualizations, technical documentation, and non-technical presentation materials to communicate complex ideas and solutions to business partners.
Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Required Experiences and skills

  • 2 years' experience as a data scientist.
  • 2 years’ experience designing and developing web-based application using Flask framework.
  • 2 years' experience using AWS services within the Python framework.
  • High expertise in Python programming and usage of opensource libraries for large scale data analysis and API development.
  • Skilled in creating and managing databases with the use of relevant software such as SQL, MySQL, Hadoop, or MongoDB, DB management tool like DBeaver or Toad.
  • Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Communication including communicating in writing or verbally, copywriting, planning and distributing communication, etc.
  • Experience using Code management tools like GitHub, BitBucket.

Desired Experiences and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, or equivalent fields
  • 3+ years’ experience as a data scientist
  • 3+ years’ experience with Python web development using Flask framework.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Tableau and strong understanding of data visualization principles
  • Proficient with SQL working with complex data sets and AWS (redshift & S3) experience.
  • Skilled in AWS Machine Learning tools such as SageMaker
  • Expertise in using statistical methods: developing and testing hypotheses, using experimental design, and running linear and logistic regressions
  • Focused experience in artificial intelligence (AI), including machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), transformers, and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Product Development including designing products, developing product roadmaps, translating design requirements, prototyping, etc
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion
