OVERVIEW

Hendall is seeking a Medical Records Scanning Technician to created scanned images of paper medical records received for auditing purposes. The Scanning Technician will be responsible for conducting a variety of scanning and imaging services including document preparation, scanning, and quality verification. The technician will use computers, high resolution scanners, and electronic document management software to combine files and enhance images as needed to ensure the medical records are legible for the audit team.

This position will support Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) which serves the public as a trusted partner and steward, dedicated to advancing health equity, expanding coverage, and improving health outcomes.

DUTIES

  • Document receipt of the medical records in the records request system
  • Complete support preparation of documents for scanning, including verification that records received are for the dates of service requested, records are legible, and all pages are accounted for
  • Scan or import the documents
  • Conduct quality control reviews of scanned documents to ensure legibility of all pages
  • Index and link scanned documents in the electronic document system

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of Medicare provider types: physicians, diagnostic laboratory facilities, ambulance, durable medical equipment suppliers, acute inpatient hospitals, long term are hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice
  • Strong active-listening and clear verbal communication skills
  • Strong record keeping skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • High school diploma
