We are seeking a Director of Facilities Operations for a prestigious college campus in the scenic city of Paul Smiths, NY. This role involves full facilities and project management, including maintenance, grounds, snow removal, capital project management, and custodial services. You will lead and mentor a team of 20-25 employees, ensuring high standards of service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead management of capital projects, including construction and renovation.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Research and implement new processes and technology to improve operations.
  • Conduct client meetings to resolve facility issues and communicate results.
  • Manage timely interviewing, hiring, and coaching of staff and service providers.
  • Oversee multiple functions of building operations and maintenance, including mechanical, HVAC, structural, architectural, landscape, energy management, snow removal, event coordination, custodial, electrical, environmental, and safety services.
  • Manage budget, financial performance, and ensure operations are within budget.
  • Provide strong leadership and develop a high-performing team.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Director of Facilities in a campus setting.
  • Experience managing external vendors and subcontractors.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
  • Proven track record of successful facilities management with quantifiable results.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, grounds, and custodial services.
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
