Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Steward to join our team at The Commissary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring that all areas are tidy and hygienic.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Dishwashing: Clean and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment or by hand as necessary.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are clean, organized, and in proper working order.
  • Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of kitchen waste, clean trash containers on daily basis , including trash and recyclables, in a safe and timely manner.
  • Floor Cleaning: Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Storage: Properly store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment, ensuring they are readily available for kitchen staff.
  • Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Assistance: Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other tasks as needed.
  • Inventory: Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify the supervisor when inventory is low.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report any maintenance or repair needs for kitchen equipment to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good physical condition, able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Trustworthy individual with a strong work ethic
  • Being on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts
  • Maintaining a good attitude and keeping morale high
  • The ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of all food workspaces
  • Following all RDG company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Being able to adapt to changes and kitchen manager request with positive attitude
