The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate and plant applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be a critical member of a team supporting a 24/7 tire manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation, development, and sustainment of a Data Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health, and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. The data warehouse supports an enterprise application suite of program management tools. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.

As a Database Administrator, you will be a key member of the Corporate Application Systems team supporting the data needs, data security and data health of corporate and plant systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Install configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database backups, restores, archiving, purging, index rebuilding, tablespace sizing and statistics gathering.
  • Apply any coding recommendations and optimizations.
  • Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Database user setup and permissions.
  • Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention.
  • Conduct database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs.
  • Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and security compliance for management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot SSIS and SSRS packages.
  • Design and implement data warehouse to be used by Tableau for business reporting and analysis.
  • Update and maintain Oracle Forms & Reports/Web Server.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5 years of MS SQL administration experience required.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience with Solarwinds DPA.
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • SQL Server(Ver 2019).
  • Oracle RDBMS(Ver 9,10,11).
  • Windows, Linux and Unix server environments.
  • Data Warehousing – Snowflake.
  • Tableau: Business Intelligence and Analytics Software.
  • ODBC.
  • Microsoft 365.
  • Visual Studio 2019.
  • On-site, full-time position.

The pay range anticipated for this role is $80,000 to $125,000 per year. Please keep in mind that this range represents an estimate based upon requested experience and skill sets. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, experience, knowledge, skills, and may differ from this estimate.
