Position: PostgreSQL DBA

Location: Charlotte, NC - 3 days onsite

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator proficient in MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining our databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability. This role involves working closely with development teams to design and implement efficient database structures, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure data security and integrity.

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain database architectures.
Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.
Monitor database performance and capacity, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and other issues.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Optimize database queries and indexes for improved performance.
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and data models.
Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Perform database migrations and upgrades as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Create and maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Provide technical support and guidance to development and operations teams.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
Strong understanding of database design principles.
Proficiency in database installation, configuration, and administration.
Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies.
Experience with database security best practices and compliance requirements.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA, PostgreSQL Certified Professional) are a plus.
Experience and strong knowledge of building, automating and deploying instances in cloud and infrastructure environments on Amazon Web Service
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with database clustering and replication technologies.
Knowledge of cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database, Google Cloud SQL).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with database automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
Understanding of NoSQL databases and distributed systems concepts
