The Grill/Cart Attendant is responsible for service and presentation of all areas of the Grill and Beverage Cart. The Attendant is responsible for inventory control, cooking/ preparation of all food items and general cash accounting for the grill room on a daily basis. The Grill/ Cart attendant is responsible for assisting in servicing the bar area and taking food orders in the bar when needed. The Grill/Cart Attendant at Soboba Springs Golf Course will be responsible for accomplishing unforeseen tasks that relate to assigned functions. The Grill/Cart Attendant is to maintain an attitude of cooperation with all employees, members and guests.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide guests with a fun, friendly, and helpful experience.
  • Able to maintain team work and complete tasks to assist cart personal and pro shop such as cleaning out trash in carts, answering phones and pulling in carts.
  • Follow standard recipes for food menu and cocktail menu, adjusting only at guests’ requests.
  • Participate in menu item planning, prep and presentation.
  • Perform routine cleaning of kitchen equipment, changing deep fryer oil and washing of dishes.
  • Ability to drive and maintain a beverage cart. Complete daily inventory and stocking of beverage cart and accurate sales.
  • Clean and stock grill and storage areas, maintain patio cleanliness and bar cleanliness when working in those areas.
  • Displays knowledge of proper food presentation including handling, garnishing and serving of all food items. Store and rotate items in the proper manner using FIFO.
  • Adheres to all rules, policies and regulations as stated in the Soboba Casino Employee Handbook.
  • Change and maintain CO2 tanks and kegs
  • Knowledge of liquor and beer offerings
  • Serving and preparing food to multiple guests in a short period of time
  • Assisting the bartender in servicing guests and maintaining cleanliness of bar Maintain accurate bank and be able to use POS system and credit card machine. Keep an accurate bank and maintain proper records of transactions throughout daily shift when applicable.
  • Ability to anticipate shortages, and formulate a plan by using other pre-made items for the grill room to counter act shortages
  • Plan daily specials and have them approved by Beverage Manager
  • Decorating and advertising for promotions, holidays and specials.
  • Competing daily checklists and having them signed off by Lead or Manager
  • Responsible for food and beverage inventory and requisition at the end of each shift
  • Responsible for preparing the order and/or notifying the lead of any items out of stock that need to be ordered.
  • The ability to constantly hold communication between golf and other co-workers about what is going on and being able to adjust at a moment noticed
  • Maintain and inform management of any problems with equipment, trash and storage containers, and facilities both on course and off
  • Maintain communication with golf shop and food and beverage personnel to ascertain the number of golfers and any special needs for the day
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all department outlets according to Soboba Casino standards.
  • Is capable of working in a safe and clean manner and reports all unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor or takes personal responsibility if supervisor is not immediately available.
  • Complete assigned tasks as well as completing individual opening and closing procedures
  • Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record. (Scheduling is based on the needs of the Golf Course tee times and events.)
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time

Education / Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age, or older.
  • Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Food preparation experience, preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
  • A current California Driver’s License, preferred.
  • Liquor and Beer knowledge preferred

Certificates, licenses and registration

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Must complete TIPS training and become TIPS certified after being hired
  • Must hold a valid Riverside County food handlers’ card
