General Summary

The Cook's primary responsibilities are to feed children and maintain a sanitary environment. This position is accountable for all aspects of food preparation and cleaning supply availability.

Location: Dallas, GA

Salary: starting at $15.00 per hour

  • The work schedule is from 6:30 AM.
  • Monday through Friday, with all evenings and weekends off.

Preferred Requirements

  • Having at least a high school diploma and a 2-year culinary arts degree is a plus.
  • Have at least 1-year of food service experience, including preparation of items from raw ingredients.
  • Preferably has Servsafe or Food Handlers Certification.
  • Experience preparing items in bulk is also a must.

Job Description

  • The Cook is responsible for all food service activities.
  • The Cook is responsible for the safety and well-being of all students in all classrooms.
  • The cook and lead director jointly manage allergies, substitutions, and other health/safety items related to food service.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation regulations and best practices is essential.
  • The Cook uses a rotating menu when planning food preparation, food and supply ordering, and kitchen/storage area cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Knowledge of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements/regulations is helpful but not required.
