Responsibilities:

  1. Test Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for all software projects, considering project requirements, scope, and timelines. Define testing objectives, resources, and methodologies to ensure thorough test coverage.

  2. Test Case Design and Execution: Lead the design and execution of test cases and test scenarios to validate functional and non-functional requirements of software applications. Conduct manual and automated testing to identify defects, bugs, and issues.

  3. Test Automation Development: Drive the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and scripts using industry-standard tools and technologies. Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.

  4. Defect Management and Reporting: Establish and manage effective defect management processes, including defect identification, tracking, prioritization, and resolution. Monitor defect resolution progress, verify bug fixes, and ensure closure of defects.

  5. Performance Testing: Plan and conduct performance testing activities to assess system performance, scalability, and reliability under various load conditions. Analyze test results and provide recommendations for performance optimization.

  6. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains.

  7. Documentation and Reporting: Ensure thorough documentation of test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports. Provide regular status updates on testing progress, issues, and risks to project teams and management.

  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality standards, requirements, and acceptance criteria.

  9. Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the QA team. Mentor junior QA engineers/testers in testing best practices, tools, and techniques. Lead by example and inspire a culture of quality and excellence.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Advanced) are preferred.

  2. Experience: 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance/testing roles, with a focus on manual and automated testing of complex web and/or mobile applications.

  3. Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in manual and automated testing techniques and methodologies.
    • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
    • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation scripting.
    • Deep understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
    • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.

  4. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot complex issues encountered during testing.

  5. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and senior management.

  6. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and ability to meticulously design test cases, document test results, and identify subtle issues in software applications.

  7. Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of leading testing efforts and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
