This role involves working in various industrial settings to install and maintain refractory linings for equipment such as furnaces, kilns, boilers, and other high-temperature vessels. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Install refractory linings according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Prepare surfaces for refractory installation by cleaning, sandblasting, and applying bonding agents.
  • Cut, shape, and apply refractory materials using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Mix refractory materials, such as cement, mortar, and castables, to the correct consistency.
  • Install insulation materials, such as ceramic fiber blankets and boards, to enhance thermal efficiency.
  • Repair and replace damaged refractory linings as needed to maintain equipment integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, engineers, and supervisors to ensure successful project completion.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks associated with working in industrial environments.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including work orders, time sheets, and inspection reports, accurately and promptly.
