POSITION SUMMARY

Medgene Labs seeks a Procurement Specialist, to lead the purchasing and vendor selection processes for a vaccine production company. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and updating processes used while purchasing materials and supplies. This person will interact with all levels of the company. This critical role will ensure that the site has the supplies and materials it needs for continued operations. This position will report to the Director of Supply Chain.

JOB DUTIES

The procurement specialist will review inventory levels throughout the campus and order supplies and materials in a timely manner. They will also need to identify and establish new vendors as needed. They will be the voice of the company to all vendors.

  • Work safely and follow all safety and environmental processes of the facility.
  • Procurement
  • Create purchase orders in the ERP system that meet the needs of the facility.
  • Create new vendors in the ERP System.
  • Create and publish a vendor scorecard.
  • Negotiate pricing and agreements.
  • Maintain appropriate purchasing records.
  • Manage the requisitioning system.
  • Work with shipping and receiving to ensure receipts are accurate and entered timely.
  • Any other assigned responsibilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Purchasing inventory in a fast-paced environment
  • Animal vaccine or pharmacology knowledge a plus
  • Negotiating
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus

Ability to:

  • Follow detailed directions and instructions.
  • Communicate information clearly and concisely.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers.
