Cook I (PRN)
Location: Asheville

CooperRiis's kitchen offers our team members a creative environment for meal preparation using fresh, local, and organic whole foods, while promoting a supportive team atmosphere. We are seeking a dedicated Cook I for a PRN (as-needed) position to join our culinary team.

Schedule:
PRN (As Needed)
Flexible hours, with shifts scheduled based on operational needs.

Pay:
$16 - $18.00/hr, based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the timely preparation and service of scheduled meals and snacks.
  • Support creativity in meal preparation and planning using fresh, local, and organic whole foods.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Follow all applicable health code regulations.
  • Accommodate specific dietary needs as required.
  • Assist in the dish room as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Culinary Arts training or experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a kitchen or food preparation role.
  • Knowledge of whole-food cuisine is a plus.
  • Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Experience working with adults coping with mental health challenges is a plus.
