JOB TITLE: General Manager, Restaurant

DEPARTMENT: Management

REPORTS TO: Vice President- Food & Beverage

POSITION PURPOSE:

The General Manager is responsible for managing day to day operations of Food & Beverage operations. This is a hand’s on position that includes oversight of all aspects of operations including cost of sales, customer experience and revenue growth. Must be able to be proactive in solving problems and identify new revenue opportunities evaluating risk/reward formula in decision making process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Customer Experience-exceeding overall customer’s expectations

2. Daily walkthrough-providing feedback to various areas

3. Providing effective communication to management team and staff

4. Menu development revision of menus as required

5. Effective management of events and holidays

6. Management of all financial reporting including but not limited to inventory, revenue and customer satisfaction

7. Assist Accounting with any follow up needed with daily operational items (cash drop variance, credit cards, accounts receivable, payroll etc)

8. Oversight of effective cost management (payroll & cost of sales are the largest expenses)

9. Work with VP F&B on quarterly adjustments to marketing program to achieve customer satisfaction goals

10. Conduct regular staff meetings

11. Provide assistance as needed with other F&B operations or projects within Suntex

12. Planning and oversight of training and development for employees and managers

13. Achieve or exceed annual budget

14. Compliance with local health department regulations

15. Continue to promote an environment that encourages teamwork

16. Maintain an open-door policy with staff

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment; and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be both a team player and self-starter.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role

2. Proven customer service experience as a manager

3. Ability to organize and prioritize work

4. Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel).

5. Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports.

6. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals

7. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers

8. Adabtable to a fast-paced environment

9. Some knowledge of marina operations or willingness to be trained in them

10. Effective communicator who can collaborate with teammates and guests

11. Ability to organize and prioritize work

12. Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season;

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds

2. Must be willing to work swing shifts, weekends and holidays as directed by management

3. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally

4. Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis

5. Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, and mouse with ease

6. Must be able to utilize a phone, both desk and mobile, with ease

7. Must be able to use eyes for the purpose of viewing computer monitors and analyze data for extended periods of time

8. Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)

9. Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
