What You Will Do

In this role you will lead the product effort for Tetra Data Platform’s focus on the scientific data analysts and data engineers personae and their main objectives of enabling end scientific outcomes through building data processing to transform scientific data (experiment context and design, instrument outputs, analysis results, collaboration data with CROs & CDMOs) and use for analytics. You will work closely with our engineering teams and architects to guide the strategy which adapts our platform to new architecture paradigms to be able to transform data for data engineers and analysts to discover datasets / schemas, use in development of pipelines or dashboard, explore via SQL, etc. This is a highly visible role that will interact with executives, cross organizationally, and with our customers. The ideal candidate has strong technical depth supporting modern cloud data processing and analytics at scale for multiple enterprise SaaS customers.

    • Own areas related to Data Analysis and Data Engineering for Tetra Data Platform, including subset of Tetra Data created for specific scientific data
    • Working closely with customers, TetraScience teams to design product features that are targeted to make transforming and consuming schematized data easier for data engineers and data analysts via various access points such as SDK, APIs, SQL.
    • Identify new opportunities through product discovery techniques like research, internal customer interviews, and process mapping.
    • Build relationships with customers; understand customer’s processes and objectives; and introduce new ways of doing things better and more productive and solicit feedback
    • Research competition and market trends and propose roadmap trade-offs between parity and innovation
    • Bring creative ideas and proposals to development teams and executives supported by qualitative justification and quantitative analysis
    • Develop and validate new concept prototypes.
    • Lead product requirements definition and ensure timely delivery of valuable experiences.
    • Deliver customer-facing interfaces (UI, SQL interface, and APIs) by producing detailed definitions of their benefits, use cases, documentation, and design.
    • Manage area roadmap and work with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and overall goals with your team
    • Decompose complex use cases and technical requirements into smaller manageable stories by creating and prioritizing a backlog with your engineering team.
    • Assess roadmap / backlog trade-offs, make recommendations informed by stakeholder and technical constraints, and deliver innovation with this in mind.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in software product management
  • 5+ years as a technical product manager
  • Prior experience with enterprise SaaS customers, preferably in BioPharma industry
  • Proficient in data architecture design including modeling, schema management, , storage, and query access patterns
  • Proficient in with Data orchestration platforms, execution engines, such as Airflow, DataBricks, etc.
  • Experience with SQL or other query language
  • UI/UX functional design
  • Public API design
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in management, business, computer science or other equivalent.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or having worked in a lab environment is a big plus
