Our Client, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Staff Engineer to join their Construction Engineering Department in Troy, MI.


In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects by:

  • Performing and coordinating field inspections and investigations under the supervision of a project engineer or manager.
  • Conducting construction observations and testing of various building elements, including earthwork, foundations, concrete, steel, masonry, and paving.
  • Assisting with laboratory testing procedures.
  • Preparing clear and concise reports documenting your findings.


To be successful, you will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • (Preferred) Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • 3 months to 4 years of demonstrated experience in construction engineering.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong prioritization, coordination, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to understand and apply construction specifications.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, occasional overtime, weekends, and travel (including overnight stays).
