Job Description:

Northside Charter High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education, a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with high school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching:

    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in accordance with the school's curriculum.

    • Foster a love for science by creating interactive and hands-on learning experiences.

    • Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.

  • Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments.

    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and administrators.

  • Classroom Management:

    • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

    • Establish and enforce clear expectations for behavior and academic performance.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices.

    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.

  • Professional Development:

    • Stay current with advancements in science education.

    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Valid teaching certification in New York.

  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching high school science subjects .

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
