The intern(s) hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of graphic design and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge.

The Graphic Designer Intern takes direction from the Creative Director and/or Senior Designer to convert written or spoken ideas into seamless images, layouts, or other designs. The Graphic Designer Intern will work with an appropriate amount of supervision deemed necessary by the Creative Director and be able to balance multiple tasks at once. 

Responsibilities 
  • Support creative design within the Estes Art Department 
  • Learn about adhering to brand guidelines and applying them to assignments 
  • Work with a wide range of media and software including Adobe CC software 
  • Create eye catching visual concepts that engage specific audiences
  • Perform retouching and manipulation of images for print and digital
  • Gain experience with product packaging
  • Support the video production team and learn editing techniques
  • Gains hands-on experience and knowledge in a fast-paced creative atmosphere
  • Learn from experienced designers and put that training into action 
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve using visual communication 

Requirements
Applicants should be majoring in specific field related to graphic design, web design or motion graphics with strong knowledge of the Adobe CC suite and be able to work in a Mac OS atmosphere. 3D software experience is preferred. Desired candidate should possess a strong knowledge of current design trends and have an eye for attention to detail. Ideal candidates must also have the ability to take written ideas from a concept phase to a finished art piece while working within given deadlines.
 
  • Bachelor’s degree candidates preferred with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Candidates finishing their Associates degree with at least a 3.0 GPA would be considered

Majors
Visual Communications, Mass Communications, Fine Arts, or related field
 

Location:

Penrose, Colorado, USA (near Colorado Springs)

Housing will be provided for the duration of the internship for non-local hires

Compensation: $18.00/hour
