8am-4pm Monday-Friday. May be called upon to work beyond the normal work day.

The Senior Event & Volunteer Coordinator works with the Special Events Manager and Foundation leadership in implementing a comprehensive special events program while also serving as lead in recruiting and managing a team of volunteers for special event needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Senior Event & Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Play vital planning role for four major events: Bouquet Sale, Memorial Walk, Harvest Fest, and Light-A-Life.
  • Manage the team of special event volunteers including recruitment, engagement, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with Director of Development and Volunteer Services Manager to consider ways to engage

volunteers while being mindful of the importance of stewarding and cultivating donors from the volunteer group.

  • Follow plans of work for logistics of each event, including assistance in managing on-site production and logistics of major events.
  • Oversees planning and implementation of event software as needed. (One cause online auction and website creation, Team Raiser, etc.)
  • Oversees/coordinates all auction logistics - including solicitations, follow-up, & logging in database.
  • Assist in managing the Hospice Helpers program while considering ways to recruit, retain, and recognize third-party fundraiser activities.
  • Assist with managing event committee and vendor relationships as needed.
  • Manage and update records in Raiser's Edge including documentation of actions to reflect activity of donors (corporate and individual) and volunteers.

Qualifications for the Senior Event & Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience
    • Minimum of two years volunteer engagement and event experience
  • Experience with fundraising date base software, preferably Black Baud NXT.
