The Outside Sales Representative plays a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing sales of products and services. As an outside sales representative or sales agent, researching sales competitors is vital. This position reports to the Outside Sales Manager. You will manage a customer base that covers a large geographical area, can communicate with contacts at all levels within the company, and be proficient with and sell a wide range of products. This position also will make sales calls, and present new merchandise, promotions, and special product offerings. Be able to open new accounts as well as add additional product lines to existing accounts. Under direct or general supervision, act as a Sales Representative for EBN, A Bostwick-Braun Company, and report to the General Sales Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate and embody the company’s CORE values of Business Driven; People Focused; Together, we grow; Always do the right thing; and Realistic optimism.
  • Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and customers.
  • Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with customers daily.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts.
  • Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally.
  • Sell the company’s products or services to customers within your given territory.
  • Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer’s specific needs.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to help build the brand.
  • “Get The Sale” using various customer sales methods (door-to-door, cold calling, presentations, etc.).
  • Forecast sales, develop “out the box” sales strategies/models, and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Evaluate customers’ needs and build productive long-lasting relationships.
  • Meet personal and team sales targets.
  • Research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads.
  • Attending networking, sale events, and training to keep abreast of the latest developments.
  • Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data.
  • Maintain and expand the client database within your assigned territory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Business, Sales, or other related field experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Specific industry knowledge, including both familiarity with product lines and the sales process is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Possess excellent communication skills in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Ability to establish good organizational and multitasking skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Personal characteristics include being enthusiastic, aggressive, and self-starter with a passion to lead others.
