Job Summary: As a vehicle fleet manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the organization's fleet of vehicles. Fleet Maintenance:

  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all vehicles in the fleet.
  • Coordinate regular inspections, repairs, and servicing to ensure vehicles are safe and operational.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and costs.

Driver Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Monitor driver performance, including driving behavior and adherence to schedules.
  • Address any driver-related issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

Vehicle Acquisition and Disposal:

  • Evaluate the organization's vehicle needs and recommend appropriate acquisitions or disposals.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchases and leases.
  • Manage the disposal process for retiring vehicles, including sale or auction.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

Fleet Optimization:

  • Optimize vehicle utilization to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency, reduce idle time, and optimize routes.
  • Utilize telematics and other technology solutions to monitor and manage fleet operations.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to vehicle operation, including accidents, theft, and vandalism.
  • Implement safety protocols and training programs to minimize risks and ensure driver safety.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the fleet.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fleet management, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be 25 years of age or older and licensed for a minimum of 9 years
