The Product Manager for the Platform team is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of foundational VL components. This includes our Reporting engine and experience, Connectors Marketplace and integrations strategy, Authentication and Authorization services, and AI Platform service. This role requires a blend of technical experience, strategic thinking, excellent communication, and leadership to ensure seamless integration and consistent user experiences across the platform while creating value for the business.
What You Will Do
- Strategic Vision: Define, articulate, and champion the long-term vision for platform components, aligning with company objectives and market demands.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other Product Managers, Design, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Client Services to prioritize and execute platform initiatives.
- Customer-Centric Development: Regularly engage with customers, subject matter experts, and partners to gather feedback, translating it into actionable product improvements.
- Performance Metrics: Set challenging but attainable goals and then achieve them.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous enhancements.
- Technical Leadership: Guide the development of scalable, robust, and secure platform solutions that support the needs of other teams and end-users through close partnership with a Product Owner and Engineering Leader.
- Enable and Empower: Partner with Product Marketing, Training, Support and Client Services to develop pre- and post-product launch activities.
- Product Excellence: Drive change within the Product organization and take an active role in elevating the department and craft.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in product management, particularly in the SaaS industry, with a focus on platform or infrastructure components. Experience leading large platform initiatives, demonstrating an ability to get to value quickly and iteratively.
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in managing API-driven products, data reporting systems, and both backend and frontend technologies.
- Agile Methodology: Proven experience in an Agile environment, leading product teams through iterative development cycles.
Desirable Competencies
- Curiosity and Adaptability: A passion for identifying and leveraging new technologies, such as AI, to enhance platform capabilities.
- Propensity Toward Action: Excitement for moving quickly on new ideas and a professional attitude towards seeing projects to completion.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
- Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with modern cloud architectures and best practices.
Work Environment:
- This is a fully remote work environment although in-person attendance at team and company events is expected (3-4 times per year, all expenses paid)
