Job Description: PVA is adding to the team The CNC Operator, 1st Shift is responsible for machining parts utilizing CNC mills. Hours for this position are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Friday. Starting pay is $18-$25 per hour depending on experience. This position requires onsite presence in Halfmoon, NY.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Creates parts and follows procedures and instructions to meet customer expectations.
  • Reads and interprets mechanical schematics to ensure accuracy.
  • Sets up tooling equipment, loads parts, reviews programming steps, and ensures adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Responsible for performing first piece inspections on machined parts.
  • Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area.

  • Basic use of hand tools.
  • Customer centric, committed to supporting the internal and external customer.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Self-starter who works independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Manages multiple projects and timelines with a sense of urgency and follow through.
  • Well organized, analytical, and detail oriented.
  • Prior experience operating HAAS mills and/or lathes, preferred.
  • Associates Degree in industrial applications or machining, preferred.
