A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A YOUTH & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
The Enrichment Specialist facilitates skill building, positive youth development opportunities, family mediation and safety planning to improve outcomes for youth in areas of permanency, wellbeing, education and employment, and safe and stable housing for youth accessing Shelter and Housing programs.
You'll work with Program Leadership to develop and incorporate learning in areas such as healthy relationships, financial literacy, vocational/educational supports, tenant readiness. You will support youth in engaging pro-social experiences within their communities and provide youth with opportunities to be successful and learn in real-life situations. You will also provide family mediation and conflict resolution to advance permanency. You'll provide support to facilitate positive exit and stability outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A YOUTH CARE SPECIALIST / COUNSELOR
- Bachelor's degree in social services, Psychology or a related field along with 2 years of experience and/or lived experience.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
