Job Description:
This job is more than just a Salad Cook. You will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and presenting a variety of salads and cold dishes that reflect the traditional and contemporary tastes of Burmese/Asian cuisine. You will work closely with our culinary team to ensure the highest quality of ingredients and presentation standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation: Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients according to restaurant recipes and guidelines.
  • Assembly: Create and assemble a variety of salads, including traditional Burmese salads such as Laphet Thoke (fermented tea leaf salad), Gin Thoke (ginger salad), and other cold dishes.
  • Presentation: Ensure all salads are presented attractively and consistently according to the restaurant's standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients, ensuring that only the best produce is used.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory by monitoring stock levels of salad ingredients and informing the kitchen manager of any shortages or required orders.
  • Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of dishes during peak hours.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Salad Cook or in a similar role in a restaurant environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Burmese cuisine, particularly traditional salads and cold dishes is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong knife skills and a keen eye for detail in food presentation.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the kitchen team.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
