ICallidus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, a passion for technology, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • User-centered design that is intuitive and easy-to-use systems with the user in mind, continuously engaging end-users during product design, development, adhering to accessibility, and digital strategic requirements.
  • Build reusable components to minimize ongoing maintenance costs and ensure consistency within and across applications.
  • Utilize rules engines to apply business rules consistently and to promote flexibility and reusability.
  • Build secure systems that adhere to federal, institute’s IT regulations, standards and can run on approved Web and/or cloud platforms.

  • Engage technical staff in a collaborative design and development process to ensure ability to maintain and support the software in the future.
  • Roadmap Planning: Identify and prioritize the portfolio of specific capabilities needed over the next five years, propose a sequence of delivery, and outline a comprehensive wide implementation roadmap.
  • Design and implement agile software development life cycle methodologies to achieve efficient delivery, rapid responses to changes in business priorities and requirements, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain product backlogs and incorporate desirable functionalities into future releases.
  • Support cloud adoption with full-stack automation capabilities and migration of existing application portfolio to IT-managed cloud environments.
  • Provide operational and maintenance support for software solutions deployed to production such as user production support, incident triage and resolution, feature request routing and tracking, application performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement database design, schemas, and table structures, and assist the infrastructure team in provisioning database version upgrades.
  • Develop and implement data analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system user guides, training materials, and compliance documentation.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of .NET Web application development experience or 7 years of equivalent experience.
  • Possess strong experience serving as a team or project lead and demonstrate experience in Document Management system and transforming user requirements into system results.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including .NET, C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL, QLik Sense.
  • Proven experience with Scrum and Agile software development life cycle methodologies.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, including cloud adoption, full-stack automation capabilities, and migration of existing applications to cloud environments.
  • Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Minimum of two years of experience serving as a team or project lead and demonstrate experience in document management system and transforming user requirements into system results.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including .NET, C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL

  • Proficiency with Containerization Tech
  • Proficiency with Containerization Technologies including Docker and Kubernetes for managing microservices.
  • Experience with automation tools and technologies for data analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Strong data modeling knowledge of database design, schemas, and table structures.
  • Development of RESTful APIs and system integration from platforms like ServiceNow to other systems.
  • Experience with front-end technologies like HTML, XML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, React, and Angular.
  • Strong experience supporting an Azure DevOps or DevSecOps environment.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics tools.
  • Use the latest .NET technologies with various SQL or NoSQL databases in addition to XHTML, CSS, XML, JQuery and JavaScript while maintaining usability and Section 508 compliance.
  • Additional support may be needed throughout the contract for specialized database applications or software development. This will cover, but not be limited to, all required software and application development customization needs that encompass all activities necessary to develop and deploy web-based database systems to support the administration functions at NIH.
  • Develop documentation including program-level and user-level specifications and to enhance software applications to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
  • Provide release packaging, testing. maintenance, and production support on existing and newly developed web applications in a timely manner. Specific tasks will include the analysis, design, development and testing of the institute extension systems modules and/or sub-modules connecting to NIH enterprise systems (e.g. NBS, NIH Data Warehouse, EHRP and NED) including the development of software patches and web services to accommodate back-end database schema modifications as required; software modifications to assist emergent user requirements; ad-hoc special reports for users; and maintenance to cover all aspects of life-cycle software development.
  • Populate and transforms data using XML, scripting, import/export with MS Excel, CSV, etc. The contractors shall work closely with NIH Login and system administrators to deploy, or trouble shoot applications or patches.
  • Participate in the continued development of the Document Management System (DMS) to review, ensure tracking, identification, protection of vital records throughout the organization programmatically and provide UI consistency.
  • Research document management technical issues before implementing appropriate solutions that are compliant with regulatory and departmental guidelines.
  • Responsible for identifying methods to help streamline DMS operations, implementing and administering enterprise wide DMS and related procedures to assist the end-users to capture, store, retrieve, share, and destroy electronic records and documents.
  • Administer document and system access rights and revision control in applications to ensure security of system and integrity of documents and transactions.
  • Analyze, interpret, or disseminate system performance data. Operate and test data capture technology to import digitized documents into document management system.
  • Exercise security surveillance over systems by partnering with server admin staff.
