Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at RogueThink, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing applications to meet our federal client's needs. This role involves a blend of software development, systems management, and operational support, with a strong focus on security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Develop, modify, and optimize applications primarily using Java.
  • System Support: Provide operations and maintenance for existing systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Linux Management: Install, configure, and secure Linux systems.
  • Database Management: Update and manage data in RDBMSs (e.g., Oracle), including creating and modifying stored procedures.
  • Software Modification: Address and correct errors in existing software, adapt it to new hardware, and enhance its performance.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute software system testing and validation procedures.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation including code, user guides, and other reference materials.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Java development, experience with Google Web Toolkit, and Visual Basic.
  • Database Skills: Experience with Oracle or other RDBMS systems.
  • Cybersecurity: Hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile processes and procedures (SAFe, Scrum).
  • A&A Process: Familiarity with Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or
    • Associate degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or
    • 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Clearance: ISSA/TS/SCI++ clearance is required.
